Today we will discuss about the various ways to bring your parents/grandparents to Canada on temporary and permanent basis.
1. Visitor’s Visa:
You need the following documents to invite your parents temporarily to Canada on a visitor’s visa:
- Letter of invitation stating your information and the reason for their visit
- Your status documents (study permit/work permit/PR/Citizen)
- Your parents’ financial documents to prove they can support themselves financially in Canada
- Application is applied on the new visitor visa portal.
- biometrics is needed.
- Can apply for extensions from within Canada
2. Supervisa:
To bring your parents on a Super visa, you must have the following requirements met:
- The application cannot be summitted from within Canada, this must be done overseas (In case your parents are in Canada already on a temporary resident visa and you wish to apply for Super visa, they must return home before they can apply for it)
- Letter of invitation from you promising financial support for the entire duration of stay in Canada
- You must meet minimum LICO requirement for 1 year (your partner can co-sign if you do not meet LICO requirement)
- Evidence of relationship with parents/grandparents
- Proof of private medical insurance (minimum 100,000)
- Your parents/grandparents must prove they have ties back home and will return back
- Medical examination and biometrics of your parents/grandparents
3. Permanent residence Application:
- NOTE: They are not accepting application for 2022 process.
- Must be 18 years of age or above
- Should be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada
- Must provide proof of income (can have your partner as a co-signer if you do not meet for the criteria alone)
- Sponsorship agreement
- Medical examination is required
- Biometrics is required
